Basic NBA Rules - There are 30 teams in the sports league, each team plays and represents a city in the United States. - There is 82 games in a season per team(2460 all teams combined) and a season lasts about 6 months - The teams play in an arena. - There are two teams that play against each other in a game. - The goal of this game is to score more points than the other team. - There are 15 players to a team with 5 players on a team while the rest sitting on the bench. - Each game is played for 4 quarters, each quarter is 12 minutes long. - The 5 positions that each person takes while on the basketball court are: Center, Power Forward, Small Forward, Shooting Guard and Point Guard. - The game starts off with a tip-off which is when the ball is thrown up in the air in the center of the court and one person from both teams have to retrieve possession of the ball. - Both teams have 24 seconds for each possession of the ball to score on the opponents basket. - In order to move the ball from one side of the court to the other is by passing the ball or dribbling the ball. - In order to score, a player must shoot the ball in the basket. Any shots made within the arc on the court is 2 points, outside the arc is 3 points and any free throws given to the player by getting fouled is 1 point. - If a team fails to score within 24 seconds then a Shot Clock violation will be called by the referees and the other team is rewarded with possession of the ball. Basic NFL Rules -There are 32 teams in the league, each team plays and represents a city in the United States. -The team plays in a Stadium. -There are two teams that play against each other in a game. -The goal of this game is to score more points than the other team. -A 17 week regular season with 256 games. -The game has four 15 minute time periods called 1st, 2d, 3rd and 4th quarter. -Their are 11 players on the field for both teams during play. -The game is played on a 120 yard rectangular field with a field post at each end. It is marked for 100 yards at 10 yard intervals with two 10 yard touchdown zones. -The game starts with each team's captain's flip a coin to see who gets to be on offense first. -The team on offense have 4 plays to gain 10 yards. -If they do they get 10 yards they get to keep the ball. -If they don't they must turn over the ball to the defense who will the be on offense. -A team can score 6 points by getting the football into their opponents end zone called a touchdown or kicking the ball through the goal posts for 3 points called a field goal. -After scoring a touchdown a team is allowed to kick a field goal for 1 extra point or the team can try to get into the end zone again for 2 extra points. |
